In short
Forever Systems supplies endpoint protection from CrowdStrike, SentinelOne, ThreatDown, Bitdefender, Trend Micro, Webroot, Sophos, Check Point, WatchGuard and Acronis, plus Halcyon anti-ransomware and Absolute agent resilience. They differ most in platform coverage, licence unit, EDR upgrade path and managed service options. We do not rank them; we match them to your needs.

How to use this comparison
Every vendor here makes a credible business product, and independent rankings rarely reflect your own estate. Compare them on what you can verify:
- Platforms: Windows, macOS, Linux, servers and mobiles.
- Licence unit: per device or per user, and whether servers are separate.
- EDR upgrade path: what you add for detection and response, on the same agent.
- Managed option: whether the vendor runs a managed detection and response (MDR) service.
The tables below summarise each vendor's own published material. Each vendor has its own page on this site with more detail.

Products you may know by an older name

| Older or alternative name | Current name | Our page |
|---|---|---|
| Malwarebytes Endpoint Protection | ThreatDown Endpoint Protection | Malwarebytes endpoint protection |
| Sophos Intercept X Advanced | Sophos Endpoint | Sophos antivirus |
| Check Point Harmony Endpoint, SandBlast Agent | Check Point Endpoint Security | Check Point antivirus |

Renames rarely change what is installed on your devices, but they can change edition names and what each edition includes, so we map your current licence to the current product when you renew or switch.
Is endpoint protection vendors the right fit for you?
We will check it against your systems and requirements and recommend the right option.
Specialist layers: Halcyon and Absolute
Two vendors we supply are not antivirus, but they strengthen whichever endpoint protection you choose:
- Halcyon is an anti-ransomware platform that runs beside your existing antivirus or EDR. It aims to stop ransomware before it executes, protects security tools from tampering, targets tactics such as deleting recovery points and is designed to capture encryption keys so files can be recovered. It is licensed per endpoint, and Halcyon's own Ransomware Operations Center is included. See Halcyon Pro Platform and Plus DXP.
- Absolute uses Persistence technology embedded in device firmware by PC makers to restore its agent if it is removed. Its Resilience editions can self-heal critical applications such as your anti-malware or EDR agent. See Absolute Persistence.
Both are covered in our guide to ransomware protection for business.
Also available
We also supply two vendors that overlap with endpoint protection:
- Todyl combines NGAV and EDR in its single agent alongside SASE, SIEM and managed XDR, licensed per device. See Todyl on our licensing site.
- Lookout is a mobile security specialist for iOS and Android. See Lookout on our licensing site and our guide to mobile antivirus for business.
Shortlisting in practice
A few patterns help narrow the field, without implying any vendor is better overall:
- Mostly Macs and Windows laptops, per-person licensing preferred: Sophos Endpoint or Trend Micro Worry-Free are licensed per user.
- Linux servers or containers in the estate: check Linux support in the table; Webroot's published list covers Windows, macOS and Windows Server, not Linux.
- A vendor-run managed detection and response service wanted from day one: compare CrowdStrike Falcon Complete, Sophos MDR, ThreatDown MDR and SentinelOne Vigilance MDR, each run by the vendor's own analysts.
- Already a WatchGuard, Sophos or Check Point firewall customer: the same vendor's endpoint product shares a console or threat intelligence, which some teams prefer.
- Microsoft 365 Business Premium already licensed: compare against Defender for Business first; see is Windows Defender enough?.
For a deeper three-way look at two of these against Microsoft, our Cloud Security site compares CrowdStrike vs SentinelOne vs Defender. Small organisations should also read antivirus for small business.
How we help you choose
Forever Systems supplies every vendor on this page, so we have no reason to push one over another. Send us your device list and priorities and we can shortlist two or three products, explain the differences in plain English, arrange a trial where the vendor offers one and quote for the term that suits you. How Forever Systems helps with endpoint protection
We are an independent UK IT and cyber security provider. We supply business antivirus and endpoint protection from several vendors, so we can recommend what fits your devices, your team and your budget rather than pushing one product.
- Review what you have: we look at your current antivirus, your Microsoft licences and the devices you need to cover before suggesting anything new
- Compare the options: next-generation antivirus, EDR and managed services from vendors including CrowdStrike, SentinelOne, ThreatDown, Bitdefender, Trend Micro, Sophos, Check Point, WatchGuard and Acronis
- Licensing and quotes: the right edition and licence count for your Windows, Mac, Linux, server and mobile devices, with pricing confirmed at quote
- Deployment and migration: we can help roll out agents, set policies and remove the old product cleanly
- Support after go-live: help with policy tuning, alerts and renewals, with the scope agreed at quote
We can also help with the rest of your security, from endpoint security and EDR to Cyber Essentials and security awareness training.
Frequently asked questions
Which endpoint protection vendors does Forever Systems supply?
CrowdStrike, SentinelOne, ThreatDown (Malwarebytes), Bitdefender, Trend Micro, Webroot, Sophos, Check Point, WatchGuard and Acronis, plus Halcyon anti-ransomware, Absolute Secure Endpoint, Todyl and Lookout.
Which business antivirus should I choose?
There is no single right product for everyone, and we do not rank vendors. The right choice depends on your platforms, preferred licence unit, whether you need EDR or a managed service, and who will manage the console. We shortlist against those criteria.
Which endpoint protection vendors support Linux?
CrowdStrike, SentinelOne, ThreatDown, Bitdefender, Trend Micro Vision One Endpoint Security, Check Point, WatchGuard and Acronis list Linux support; Sophos protects Linux servers on a server licence. Webroot's published support list covers Windows, macOS and Windows Server.
Which vendors license per user rather than per device?
Sophos Endpoint and Trend Micro Worry-Free are licensed per user. The other endpoint products we supply are licensed per device or endpoint, and some license servers separately.
Do all these vendors offer EDR?
Every endpoint protection vendor in our comparison offers EDR on the same agent, either built into higher editions or as an add-on. Check Point includes EDR in all its current editions.
